Dogs are true and loyal friend of human beings. People often take
their pet dog to parks or their own garden to play with them. Sometime
we note that dogs are eating grass. The first question comes in mind
is, why does dogs eat grass? We can find two types of grass eating
behavior in dogs, some eats grass frequently and other
infrequently. If the dogs are taking grass frequently, maybe there is
some bacterial infection or dietary problem. If the dog is taking
grass infrequently, then it is just a natural behavior. Why do dogs
eat grass then vomit usually because they feel uneasy after eating
grass. It is not fully digested in their stomach, which causes
bloating and vomiting.
Why do dogs eat grass then vomit? The dogs also vomit for the same
reason as the human being does. Like eating disorder or eating
something, that does not suit to our digestive system.
We often see dogs doing vomit. May be because of eating something
stuff or eating grass. It is found that mostly dogs do vomit after
eating grass. Grass cannot be easily digested, that is why after
eating grass dog vomit. When dogs are eating grass it does not mean
that, they are ill; it is due to the taste of grass. As we can find
the dog, which is kept as pet and given healthy diet also likes to eat
grass. But it should be kept in knowledge by dog owner that do not
allow them to eat the grass in which fertilizers and pesticides are
mixed to treat the grass because this may act as reason of vomiting
after eating grass and other side effects.
It has been discovered that dogs eat grass when they are not
feeling comfortable with their stomach and digestion condition, and
just to get rid from it, they eat grass, do vomit and after that they
feel better. Therefore, it can be said that when dogs feel uneasy and
feel like vomiting, they eat grass. The other main reasons of vomiting
of dogs are lever disease, over eating and eating quickly, some times
change in diet is also the cause of vomit. They often vomit, when
there is an allergic reaction on eating anything or may be due to
other health disorder. Sometimes vomiting may be symptom of other
diseases. Vomiting is also caused upset of stomach. Eating grass is
normal behavior of dogs, and sometimes it makes them do vomiting.
Thus, why do dogs eat grass then vomit can be known by above
discussions. If you find that your dog is vomiting, it means his
stomach is upset and it takes time to recover. At this time, do not
provide them any kind of heavy food and when their digestive system
starts functioning properly again then give them a plain diet so that
the digestion system can work properly and after a day or two, start
giving them their normal diet. Moreover, if you find your dog eating
grass frequently and doing vomit continuously then take your dog to
vet. According to vet, eating grass is not sign of illness; dogs eat
grass to fill up the insufficiency of vitamin, eating grass can give
them healthy diet full of nutrients and protein.
